And They Call Her Charlie

My most recent Newborn photo session was with Baby Charlie!  This bundle was just a doll!  With a head full of hair and her super girl strength, it was hard to believe that this petite little miss was ONLY 4 weeks old!

This Little Princess comes from a healthy stock of Hunters and Wisconsin Badger Fans.  She was a natural in her tutus and bows.... Dare I say, she is a true All American Girl on the rise!

As most Newborn sessions are, this shoot was held in the comfort of Charlie's own home!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Baby Charlie and her family! Congratulations on your new arrival and the best of luck with this charmer in the future!

(Moved from previous blog, posted July 12, 2011)

Well, here we are!

I (Mina!) am a new resident in the "lovely with GREEN" Wisconsin, fresh out of the deserts of Tucson, Arizona...  And! I have 'offic-ially' created my OWN website and blog!  Honestly, I could not be happier or more proud of myself in this very moment, for I did not know I could be sooo computer savvy!  I hope all my old friends, new friends, strangers, lurkers and potential clients enjoy my posted escapades and work for all of you to see!  Thank you all for stopping by my page, have a beautiful day!

No Party Is A Party Without A Piñata!

(Moved from previous blog, posted July 14, 2011)

I am currently planning maybe the BIGGEST birthday party of my career... My baby boy, Maxton's, 1st (!) BIRTHDAY bash! It has been such an honor and blessing watching this little one grow from no longer a baby, but an actual toddler!

Why is it that these babies grow and progress so much more in this first year than ANY other of their adolescence?  Seriously, they go from an entirely liquid diet, to solid food... Crawling, to walking... Hardly moving at all, to virtually running away from you!  And then here you are, one unsettlingly short year later, tearing up as you make your sweet baby a paper mache, elephant head piñata...

The theme is The Circus! And no not a cheesey red, yellow and blue, I belong in even the 80's clearance bins... But a classy white, red and gold palleted, no clowns allowed, kind of circus. Why? Because Maxton is a classy baby, that's why; who deserves a non-corny 1st (!) birthday party =)
Coming from Arizona, where we obviously have piñatas galore,  I thought... Pshhh, my son can't ring in his 'new' year without a piñata!  Because, "No party is a party without a piñata!"

Unfortunately, while on my ventures through town, I have yet to find the appropriate heap of glued news&tissue paper for my kiddo's 'Classy Circus Birthday Party.'  Now for the number 1 rule for how I operate... First seek.  If the world fails to impress you, impress yourself, OR hire MEEE =) ... Now I am putting my 4th grade art project skills to darn good use as I set out to create a 'classy' elephant head piñata, utilizing 1 balloon. (*Sigh...*) The things I get myself into.

The Flower Child & Her Seeds

(Moved from previous blog, posted July 31, 2011)

One of the reasons why I love maternity shoots, is that it marks such a pivital time in a woman's life.  The expecting mother is an emotional roller coaster, nearly going insane with anticipation to meet her child(ren).  She is ready to scream at any moment, but still treasures the discomforts.  She will scrub her entire house and run the baby clothes through the wash a few more times, even when her feet are so swollen, she can't even fit them into her husband's shoes.  Her motherly instincts are high on alert and she can literally smell any kind of trouble coming her way.  Whether if it's the first born or 5th, the time after will never be like the time before...

These friends are probably the most outdoors-ie couple I know.  They were extra comfortable at this particular location because it was right in their own backyard!  Incredibly fun to work with, these two are expecting twin baby girls and couldn't be happier with their whirlwind experience.

Congratulations to Nick and Michelle! Thank you for allowing me into your home and may your sweet baby girls and you have a beautiful life in your next chapter!

Their Special Place

When booking for any custom photography shoot, I like to allow my clients to suggest some of their favorite spots for the location.  Many places have special meaning or memories for an individual, couple or family.  A special location personalizes the client's session and I truly believe that it shows in the pictures. It adds the comfort, ease, style and sparkle that all make for those amazing portraits!

These friends chose a local park in Janesville, WI.  Because at this VERY location, only a short while ago, D&C took their "PreBaby" maternity pictures... Now they have some especially adorable shots of their spunky 16 month old (!) son, running down the same bridge they had strolled together before!

I am very excited to announce that D&C are also recently ENGAGED (!) and are anticipating their wedding, set to be next July (2012).  AND, more exciting for ME, will be working with Mina Michelle Photography&Flair in their important planningWe had tailored this particular session as a Family and Engagement shoot...

Although we managed to get some amazing (!) pictures, the weather really just wasn't on our side this particular evening.  The clouds started rolling in and put a damper, literally, on our session... We will be continuing another time to finish with a new New Brew Crew agenda!  To be Continued...

(One of my favorite takes of the shoot ^.^ )

The Terrific Two's

She's sweet, she's cute, and she's sassy to boot!
This little princess was an absolute hoot!
As she approaches her "Terrific Two's,"
she prances around in her new glitter shoes.
Watch out for Kadence, who is likely to finish your sentence.
With a sparkle in her eye that would make even an old, grumpy man cry...

It was such a pleasure working with Team K&K and a tutu again! The unbeatable combination made for some amazing on location photographs.  We were all so pleased when we saw the finished product!

They are Sugar & Spice and EVERYTHING Nice!

Thank You K&K, Love you both!
